Mumbai: An IndiGo flight travelling from Mumbai to Delhi was delayed by about an hour after a passenger allegedly made a remark suggesting that he had a bomb in his baggage.

The comment, which was reportedly made as a joke, prompted immediate security action. Authorities did not take the statement lightly and the passenger was removed from the flight for questioning.

Security personnel subsequently checked the passenger and his baggage as part of the standard procedure followed in response to a suspected threat. The incident led to a delay of roughly one hour for the Mumbai-Delhi service.

The passenger was later taken into custody by Mumbai police in connection with the incident.

The incident highlights the serious consequences of making jokes or casual comments involving bombs, explosives or other security threats while travelling by air.
